No one knew where she came from. Or how she got there. But they all knew when she had arrived. Smelling of smoke, musk and coconut oil. Her hair was big and her eyes were wide. She’d tried to blend in in the past but failed miserably. She never really did have a chance. So she made up her mind to stand out from the scene. Shining bright like a diamond. Donning pin-up swim suits she found in Malibu and loose cardigans that smelt like her home town.

She didn’t like to tell people about her previous life. She found the mystery that surrounded her intoxicating. And so did others. But those lucky to get close to her were given the key to unlock her secrets. Suppressed memories of waitressing at a truck stop in Idaho.  Watching the Bold and the Beautiful in a trailer in Tucson. Eloping in Vegas. Hitchhiking through Nevada. Wild nights in Wyoming. Motorcycles and bad boys. Bad thoughts. And too many regrets.

But those days were long behind her and now she was a vision of red hair, florals and stripes. At every chance she got she’d wash away her sins in the water. Sinking to the bottom of pools lined with palm trees. Looking up at the sun from below the water’s surface. When the sun began to set she’d lie on the steps and soak her troubles away.  Until all that remained from the past were the freckles on her nose and a tiny tattoo hidden from the world by her swimsuits.

The sin-free pool sessions worked like magic. Her skin began to glow, her spirit sparkled and the elite couldn’t help but look. Her trust issues subsided. And she let light and love in. In her heart she’ll probably always be a wildfox. But for now she’s a wildfox in the water. Away from trouble. Shining bright like a diamond and with no regrets.
