The deep V
So fashion week!? Are we all excited? I can’t believe it’s only Wednesday and already there are some strong themes emerging from the New York tents. Other than the cast from Orange is the New Black sitting front row at many of the shows – a fact I’m more than okay with it. On the catwalk there’s also been another similarity across the heavy hitters that I’m totally okay with. Yes ladies, hold on to your your necklines because they’re about to plunge to Star Trek proportions. If the following designers are to be believed, next summer we’ll all be coveting the deep V.
Emphasised with stripes at Rag and Bone, sequins at Marc by Marc Jacobs, piping at Rodarte, embellishments at Sass & Bide and even reversed at Alexander Wang and Rodarte, I totally welcome the new-season V with open arms and a bra-less chest. After months of suffocating in Kenzo sweat shirts and Celine turtle necks, I think it’ll be good for all of us to expose our decolletages and flirt with freedom, some vitamin D, and anyone else who will flirt with us. Unlike pretty-much everything else in the Rodarte collection (seriously, what was that?) the v neck is flattering across all platforms and can be trialed or commited to depending on your chest-pride and fondness of that dress JLo wore when she was dating Diddy (good times). So let us raise our glasses and mammary’s to the return of cleavage, and the rest of fashion month. My buttocks are cleanched for Proenza Schouler!
